Autonomous Robots may be used to assist visitors at a facility. This robot has created an internal map of our building BT7 (using SLAM algorithms). It can lead visitors to several locations. User interface for communication with the robot is a tablet computer. The videos show preliminary experiments with the robot to make it robust in various environments.
Video 1: Multi-Sensor Integration. The robot decides upon multiple sensor data if the area underneath the table allows a passage. Video 2: The robot finds its way through a given maze. It uses SLAM (self localisation and mapping) to make a map from the maze and eventually find its way through.
